How to get to Scotland

Edinburgh and Glasgow are the main destinations if you are flying from Europe or even from other continents. 

Edinburgh has one airport, well connected by bus to the city center.

The bus train between 45 minutes and an hour an half depending of the traffic an the time of the day.

Glasgow has two airports: Glasgow International and Prestwick International.
Glasgow International is the nearest to the city and it is around 20 / 30 minutes away by bus.
Glasgow Prestwick is near the town of Ayr on the West Coast and around 45 minutes by train or an hour by bus.

Edinburgh, Glasgow International and Prestwick International have many low cost flights from all over Europe.

If you are travelling to the North consider also flying to Aberdeen or to Inverness. 
The Shetland Isles and the Orkneys are very well connected by air from Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Most of the islands are connected by regular ferry service.
